Adrian Peralta-Alva

Deputy Division Chief · IMF Research Department

I am Adrian Peralta-Alva, Deputy Division Chief in the Systemic Issues Division of the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund. I also serve as IMF mission chief for Kiribati and as an Associate Editor of IMF Economic Review and Emerging Markets Review.

My research combines macroeconomics and computational economics to study fiscal policy, public debt, and the distributional effects of economic policy. I develop and apply quantitative general equilibrium models and empirical methods to questions about taxation, housing, and government spending.

I previously held positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and the University of Miami. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
