About me

I was born on January 26, 1988, in Kakinada, a small (small in Indian terms~300,000 people) and beautiful coastal town in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh, India. I did my schooling till 10th in sama public school, and my intermediate studies (10+2) in Aditya junior college.

B. Tech
I obtained my Bachelor of Technology degree from National Institute of Technology, Warangal (formerly called Regional Engineering College, Warangal) in 2009.

M. E.
I obtained my Master of Engineering degree from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in 2011.
IISc is locally referred as Tata institute owing to the magnanimous charity from the visionary late Jamsetji Nasarwanji Tata in establishing the institute during colonial rule. IISc is consistently ranked as the best Indian institute in terms of Science and Engineering since Indian Independence and my favorite among all the places I have lived.

I worked in Intel India Pvt. Ltd. first as component design engineer and then as Graphic Hardware Engineer from August 2011-June 2013.

Research Associate
I joined IISc as research associate and teaching assistant in July, 2013. I worked on Robert-Bosch sponsored project on endoscopic image processing. My mentor Prof. Chandrasekhar Seelamantula gave me a rare opportunity to teach java, ImageJ programming and some basic image processing concepts like spline interpolation, morphology, steerable filters, gradient-vector-field, and image segmentation to the class.

Doctoral Student
I have joined Rice University to pursue my research interests in computer vision and computational photography. I am working with Prof. Ashok Veeraraghavan.

I was with Texas Instruments during May-August, 2015 working on an embedded implementation of structure from motion. The work became part of a demo at CES. Click here to view my mentor Martin's presentation.
