Senior Lecturer &
NERC Independent Research Fellow

I am a scientist interested in the evolution of animal cognition, morphology, development, and behaviour. I use a combination of lab and field experiments, analysis of published data, and theoretical modelling.
My research focuses on the following topics:
  • Evolution of individual differences in social groups
  • Evolutionary basis of emotions and human health problems
  • Nutrient- and toxin- dependent decision-making
  • Multi-trophic effects of predation on psychology and behaviour
  • Morphological and behavioural defences during growth
  • Sexual signals and conflict
See my Research page for details.
