Technical Management:

Head of Content Management System Design and Implementation Team for the Department of Information and Computer Science (ICS). A full solution was developed, implemented and deployed using open source packages and resources.

Cooperative Program Coordination (June 2008 - July 2009)

Managed and monitored placement of senior ICS students in industry for work experience. The program is known as the "Coop Program"

2006 to 2008 : Castle Educational Consultants

Castle Education Consultants (CEC) is an educational recruitment agency located in Auburn, New South Wales, Australia. Worked on several phases of IT development at CEC, which are briefly summarized below:
  • Main IT advisor to CEC management.
  • Design and supervision of the building up process of the CEC IT infrastructure tailored to their business needs.
  • Design and implementation of “paper-less office” for CEC, an objective set by CEC management in early 2007. This included automated document archiving and managing internal workflow process using open source software packages.
  • Supervision of the development of an online, web-based CRM system, which was outsourced to an external developer.
  • Occasionally worked as an academic advisor to CEC customers, a non-technical task handed to me when CEC was short of staff.

2005 to 2006 : ARGAAM.COM, Dubai, U.A.E.

  • Professional IT consultancy during the final phase of the ARGAAM online website development and deployment.
  • Consultancy advice on a startup C2C business for a sister company to ARGAAM - Dubai.

    Software Developer

Team member of the Team Collaboration in High Bandwidth Virtual Environments project, a joint project by CRC Australia and the University of Sydney supervised by Professor Mary Lou Maher. The Java language skills were pushed to the limits to achieve the following two objectives:
  • Coding and developing a platform independent video-conferencing component for the collaborative virtual environment using Java Media Framework JMF. Solely handled the responsibility of development along with writing publishable documentation and developer's guide.
  • Developing the web application interface, for the project, using the JavaServer Faces technology developed and deployed on J2EE environment. I was in a team of three where several programming tasks, to develop a full-fledged web application, were divided between the developing team members.

    Transcriber - Arabic Language
  • Participated in the process of transcribing conversations recorded in the Arabic language into digital form.

Teaching first and second level computer science courses to undergraduate students which included:
Member of the" Design and Analysis of Algorithms"? online course development committee. Based on the recommendations of the committee members, the online material was developed using the then known Macromedia Flash software package.
