Super Chocolate Trifle

1 extremely chocolatey chocolate cake (find recipe here), broken into pieces.  

2 pkgs (6 cup serving) instant chocolate pudding,  made per package directions

1 pt. heavy cream, whipped until light and soft peaks form

1/4 c. sliced almonds for garnish, if desired


Place 1/3 of the cake crumble in the bottom of a large trifle bowl.  Add 1/3 of the pudding and 1/3 of the whipped cream.  Repeat twice more ending with the whipped cream and sprinkling with almonds, if desired.  Refrigerate until ready to serve.
