2011- Hired as Social Media Specialist in Curry College's Office of Institutional Advancement. I create and activate digital and social strategies, leveraging social media to effectively and ethically achieve the institution's and each department's marketing objectives. I've created from the ground up and manage: Curry College's institutional FB page, and their Twitter stream, and also help to manage the college's Admission FB page and their Twitter stream, and Career Service's FB page, just to name a few.
2010-2011- Hired as Social Media Manager in Suffolk University's Office of University Communications. Instead of working solely in the CAS Dean's Office, Communications Dept.(previous position), I worked for the university community at large. I served as a voice of the university in the online space and as the community internally. I suggested and helped to implement external social media campaigns & monitored internal Web 2.0 efforts to ensure streamlined strategy.
I edited a blogging policy for undergraduates and I also edited students' blogging. I was in charge of managing, culling content for and interacting on multiple social assets, such as Facebook Fan pages and the university's main Twitter stream, where I increased followers and fans by the hundreds by humanizing the university's brand and sharing insights. Identified and interacted with influencers/students to create brand ambassadors, partly by answering community questions and helping to solve their concerns/issues on a daily basis.
2009-2010- I was awarded a Graduate Fellowship in the Suffolk University College of Arts & Sciences' Dean's Office, Communications Dept. where I was hired as the Social Media/Content Marketer Manager. I was in charge of strategically and coherently bringing together and using social and new media tools and mining networks that our students and community were populating to reach, share and communicate effectively with these diverse stakeholders. Here is the social media strategy I developed & activated.
I created "buyer personas" for the colleges' website and alumni magazine and helped to distribute messages and creative specifically to reach and interact with each of these groups. I assisted the Director of Communications w/devising strategies that would help to create attention and spark genuine conversations around our annual alumni magazine -"Imagine". I successfully created buzz around the Facebook Fan page as well as their Twitter streams, steadily increasing followers and fans of each and providing them with relevant audio/video to watch and comment on.
I also performed editorial duties related to the magazine, constructing a write-up on a college event, as well as completing all audio/video editing and marketing of these lectures/special speakers that occurred at the university & surrounding Boston community (e.g. Boston Athenaeum). I am most passionate about creating and cultivating interactive channels in which to share compelling and useful content.

2008-2009- I was a Staff Writer/ Crime Reporter for The Daily Collegian at U-Mass Amherst (17 months total). My duties included covering all the crime on and around campus, meeting with Deputy Chief Patrick Archbald of the UMass Police Department weekly to go over the police log of arrests and to discuss the cases that were most important to the university community- assaults, thefts, attempted murder, etc. I wrote at least two articles a week, in addition to the crime log, and fostered and maintained mutually beneficial relationships w/the university community and sources, which strengthened the reach of and loyalty to the paper. I also kept office hours in the newsroom two hours a week where I interacted w/ staff and the campus community, working as part of a cohesive and effective team.
During the spring semester of 2009 I also worked as Online News/Video/Editor for the online news magazine The Amherst Wire. I produced multimedia packages, managed, edited and created content for the political blog Politikos Discourse. I also participated in the strategic forging of coalitions w/ other local media groups to broaden and stregthen the impact of our web content.
June 2008-August 2008- I interned as PR/Editorial Intern for the Boston-based think tank and research center "Political Research Associates." They have their own quarterly magazine titled, "The Public Eye," which in June 2008, the summer edition was just being released. I promoted/marketed/proofread three specific articles from the summer publication and their respective authors, and I engaged in myriad aspects of stakeholder outreach (Radio, Website, Ally), as well as media relations.
I successfully pitched the media, winning press attention for the executive director and two of the authors who appeared in the summer publication. I was also successful in placing another staff article on the news aggregator site AlterNet.com.
I researched the relevant demographics and developed buyer personas for the magazine and organization and then constructed a reader survey, which was later implemented, to gauge audience interests and to illicit important feedback on the magazine, their stakeholders and PRA as an organization - so as to internalize this key information and change/adapt in the future for the better. Also consulted on the optimization of the website's newsroom to make it more effective in serving the needs of journalists and media.
