Reg VI, Ins 15

General Description

House of the Vettii House of the Prince of Naples Reg VI, Ins 15 is limited by the northern boundary of Regio VI. To the east it is bounded by the Vico Dei Vettii, to the west by the Vico del Labirinto.

The insula contains mostly domestic properties with a scattering of shops and commercial premises. Of the dwellings in the insula, the House of the Vettii is the grandest and by far the best preserved. It is examined here in more detail, as is the House of the Prince of Naples which, although small and compact in comparison, is worthy of attention in its own way.
