General Description

House of Queen Margherita House of the Silver Wedding Reg V, Ins 2 lies along the southern edge of Regio V, on the north side of the Via di Nola. It is the largest of the five insulae so far excavated.

The insula contains mainly domestic properties, with intervening shops and bars. Among the houses in the insula are several large unnamed properties as well as the named houses which include the House of the Triclinium, the House of Paccia and the House of Queen Margherita. By far the grandest is the House of the Silver Wedding, featured here.
