General Description

House of M. Obellius Firmus Reg IX, Ins 14 lies in the north east corner of Regio IX on the south side of the Via di Nola.

The insula has only been partially excavated, but like neighbouring Insulae, the properties have well preserved facades. The largest of the houses excavated is the House of M. Obellius Firmus, a double atrium house dating from the second century BC. Because of the limited excavation, it is not possible to complete the table below.

Unnamed House
9 Central hall with stairs up. 2 cubicula off west side. Partially excavated. Some remaining second style decoration. Ruinous condition.
