Reg I, Ins 9 lies between the Via dell'Abbondanza and the Via di Castricio on the north side of Regio I. The insula was the subject of a research project by the British School at Rome.
insula is a general mix of commercial and domestic properties. The
insula is in a fairly poor state of preservation, however, with several
of the properties being semi-ruinous. The insula contains a number of
houses including the House of the Orchard and the House of the Beautiful Impluvium which are described in more detail below.
