Meteorite cross-section
A cross-section, cut but not polished, of an unclassified Moroccan meteorite (probably a common chondrite) showing iron and nickel-iron clasts in a varied mineral matrix. Image was made using a microscope with 50X objective and 10X eyepiece and a Pentax istDS DSLR. The large clast (shiny area showing saw kerf marks) is about 1mm in its longest dimension. Rust is evident on the sectioned clast, but not on the chevron-shaped clast to its lower right. The large clast includes a non-ferrous chondrule at extreme upper left.

Cross Sections
A five-star reviewed novel on Amazon.com is now available through Kindle.

In Cross Sections, as WWII looms, an American graduate student in Germany uncovers research projects which will lead the Nazi to their own atomic bomb. When his attempts to alert authorities in the United States fail, at the risk of his own life, he attempts to sabotage those efforts.

Praised for it historical accuracy, Cross Sections is about loyalty, friendship, passion, courage, and sacrifice in the face of tyranny and the horrors of Fascism, the S.S. and the Gestapo.

What can one man do? How can the world be saved? And at what cost?

One reviewer declares Cross Sections "...literate and absorbing." But to another "...it's a rattling good tale!"
