14th February 2009 - Do you see what I see?
Have you ever just stood there and analysed yourself in a mirror? I have a lot recently. I don't like a lot of what I see at the moment. Although, I have plans in place to change that. I have had a Health Assessment at my Gym. It didn't tell me anything I didn't already know (massively overweight in the main) but my glucose levels, blood pressure, resting heartrate and cholesteral were all in the good range. Therefore I just need to lose weight. Please can someone tell me how someone who on average probably only eats about 1000 calories per day (if that) can change her diet to lose weight? No-one believes that my appetite is quite low. If I didn't put myself in situations where I have to eat (i.e. in restaurants, round people's houses for meals etc..) I wouldn't eat. Simple as. Yet I am hugely overweight and have been for years and years. I will up the volume of exercise and see what happens...
We were able to adjust to life on the North Atlantic. We would row up to 12 hours per day in 2 hour shifts. It's amazing what your body can become accustomed to once you leave the comforts of modern life. I'm preparing food in the shot on the left. We were suppose to have 7,000-8,500 calories of food per day and still expected to lose weight. Due to poor planning on my part we had to ration food and for up to a week at a time were reduced to consuming barely more than 2,500 calories per day.
