Epcot's World Showcase: Around the Bend to Germany
Epcot's World Showcase: Around the Bend to Germany
There's something to be said about the act of walking in Epcot. I always justify overeating at the Biergarten buffet by telling myself (and others) that because Epcot is so big, I'll burn off my calories just by walking to the front gate. True or not, it works in getting myself to eat another piece of Bavarian cheesecake. I love the way the streetlamps are dotted along the walk like fireflies. So put a camera in your hand and you have the perfect nighttime activity to get a few more clicks on your pedometer. I found that this photo presented an opportunity to create a certain Thomas Kinkade feel to the photo with the light almost acting as the subject of the photo. I'm not all about Kinkade, but it was the general feel I was going for. I like to have a little foreground to give depth to a long shot like this, but I'm a little conflicted because these bushes are kind of ugly. But at least they give a little of that "peering out on the village" feel. 3-exposure HDR (Photomatix-Detail Enhancer) +/- 1.3 EV.
Icecream garden!
Icecream garden!
Icecreams are the flavour of the season! My daughter and I made this garden by gluing icecream sticks and colour paper strips on an empty card board box. She and I love making stuff like these utilizing waste lying around in the house. We have this habit of saving anything and everything that may seem waste - disposable glasses....paper plates.....bottles...match boxes..! You never know what we may need for one of her playschool craft projects.. This pair of blunt edge scissors is her best friend and my workout machine as I burn quite a few calories clearing up the mess caused by it all through the day!
