Rabbit Air BioGS AC Charcoal filter for models SPA-421A and SPA-582A
Charcoal based Activated carbon filters are utilized in BioGS Air Purifiers to capture airborne gases, VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and odors. VOCs are often generated by offgassing from carpets, composite wood furniture and other materials in the home. The effectiveness and the life of the carbon filter are determined by the concentration and density of active carbon in the deodorization filter. Since the BioGS Activated carbon filters have a much higher active carbon concentration and density than ordinary activated carbon filters in the market, odor problems from cooking, pets, smokers, microbial VOC or other sources can be eliminated or minimized very effectively.81% (11)

Our new place in Middletown is smaller and we won’t have room for this huge tank. Some of the fish were pretty small when I got them, but have grown.Counting the filters in my radioactivity monitor
The tank is fresh water. The fish are healthy. They haven’t had any disease or problems in over two years. As it is, the tank is almost self sustaining. Besides the daily feedings, I clean the filter and top off the water maybe every six weeks or so.
The dimensions of the tank and stand are 16”x50”x50”.
The stand is 16” deep, but with spacing, it stands 18” from the wall. The stand is 50” wide, the tank is just a bit shorter.
The stand is maybe 30” high and the tank is probably about 20” high.

Trying to detect the radioactivity released from the damaged fukushima nuclear plant. As of 3/20, I'm not detecting anything that can't be attributed to naturally occuring radon. I pushed air through two layers of filter material, 1st layer is furnace filter, 2nd layer is activated carbon coated fiber mat. The filter unit was run for 48 hrs, then I brought it indoors to count the filters. Measurements were with a pancake G.M. tube, counts were for 15min. each, totaled on a scaler. on 3/20 : background =661counts, furnace filter material=1278 counts, charcoal filter=752 counts. seems like most of the radioactivity (so far probably just radon daughters) is being trapped on the first filter, and little is passing through to the carbon layer.
Charcoal is carbon. Activated charcoal is charcoal that has been treated with oxygen to open up millions of tiny pores between the carbon atoms. The use of special manufacturing techniques results in highly porous charcoals that have surface areas of 300-2,000 square metres per gram. These so-called active, or activated, charcoals are widely used to absorb odorous or coloured substances from gases or liquids. When a material absorbs something, it attaches to it by chemical attraction. The huge surface area of activated charcoal gives it countless bonding sites. When certain chemicals pass next to the carbon surface, they attach to the surface and are trapped. Activated charcoal is good at trapping other carbon-based impurities ('organic' chemicals), as well as things like chlorine. Many other chemicals are not attracted to carbon at all - sodium, nitrates, etc. so they pass right through. This means that an activated charcoal filter will remove certain impurities while ignoring others. It also means that, once all of the bonding sites are filled, an activated charcoal filter stops working. At that point you must replace the charcoal.Similar posts:
