royal duotone 1930
During the 1930s the Royal typewriter company set out to wow the population with these vibrant colored typewriters in order to target women and students. These were available in more than 500 color combinations. The one featured here is the classic duotone green. A new design featured on the 1930s Royals were the hinged top covers for the typewriter ribbon spools to protect the ribbon from dust. This machine is in beautiful vintage condition, clean, types great, and has a brand new two color ribbon and can type in black or red. For this typewriters age there is minimal paint loss and its color is still as vibrant as it was when it was new. The paint loss it typical to this age of machine due to normal use. This is a great relic of the early age of women's journalism and a wonderful piece to display proudly in your office at home or a work. This does come on the original case bottom but could easily be removed and displayed directly on your desk. The typewriter has the original rubber feet still intact. The top of the case has been lost throughout its 75 plus years of life. I have seen other sites selling these for $595.00. This will come via UPS and I will convo you with the tracking number as soon as it is shipped. I will package this with great care in new packing materials. Because the typewriter has no case I will double box it and ensure that the carriage is locked to minimize movement during shipping. I use bubble wrap, Styrofoam pads, and packing peanuts. I will also insure the typewriter for its value. Additional universal typewriter ribbons for this machine can be purchased from Office Max for around $6.00.green walnut vin de noix
Vietnamese Style Vin de Noix 9 green walnuts, hacked in to quarters Splash of vanilla or half a vanilla bean, split 3 Tbsp of palm sugar Two good sized strips of peels of lemon or lime peels (not the white pith) 5 green cardamom pods 2 cloves 5 Vietnamese peppercorns (citrusy medium flavored pepper) 2 cups of Vodka 1 cup of white wine Wear gloves when cutting the walnuts and clean your area as soon as possible, because the innocent looking beige juice that comes out soon turns to brown and then almost black stain and will get into your cutting board, under your nails, on your countertop, everywhere! Place the whole lot in a big canning jar with a seal and let it sit for 4 months in a cool place. When it’s ready (dark as night and no longer bitter) strain it twice through a coffee filter into decorative bottles for gifts, cooking or for hoarding, once you taste it you will know why you will want to keep it all for yourself!
