ACOA meets once a week to share information and experiences with other children who grew up in alcoholic situations. At each meeting all members will be reminded of the twelve step program that it takes to give up negative emotions, memories, and ways of life and exchange them for solutions so that each member's life may be able to heal and move toward a healthier life not only for themselves but also for their loved ones. The goal for this program is to no longer feel alone in one's circumstance, but to be able to see that there are others out there fighting the same battle. Through this program we hope that members would be able to support themselves as well as the other members involved. The hope is that each member's life may have the ability to change for the better in healthy and positive ways.
ACOA is open to the entire Cedar Valley area but is located in Waverly.
ACOA will meet on Thursday nights at 8:00 PM at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. The address is as follows:
717 W Bremer Ave, Waverly, IA 50677
