Accuplacer Workshop Information

Accuplacer is the placement instrument used by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System.(MNSCU)  The Math Skills and Advising Center of Anoka Ramsey Community College offers Free Accuplacer Preparation Workshops for the Math portion of the test.  The workshops are designed to help students review their math skills prior to taking or re-taking the Accuplacer placement test. 

We offer two ten-session workshops.  One workshop it titled Elementary Level.  This level covers many of the arithmetic topics including decimals, fractions,order of operations, percents, and integers.  It also covers solving equations, inequalities, basic geometry, word problems and factoring.  This level is designed for students with the goal of testing into Math 0100 or Math 0205.

The other workshop is titled Intermediate Level.  The topics in this workshop are linear equations and systems of equations, rational expressions, absolute value, functions, inverses, factoring, quadratics, radicals.  The Intermediate level workshop is designed for students who have placed into College Level Math or have the goal of testing into College Level Mathematics(Math 1110, Math 1100, or Math 1200).  This workshop is designed for students who feel pretty comfortable with Math and need a quick refresher.

Who are the workshops intended for? 
  •  Anyone interested in reviewing their Math Skills
  • Students who have had a long break from Mathematics
  • Students who want to place into a higher level Math Course
