Haven't forgotten about my lamp. Finally got the energy to make another shade from paper, in traditional (semi) chochin style. Chochin is what those paper lanterns made of tissue paper stretched over rings of cane are known as. For this you first need to make a form, coil a length of cane around it, and then glue paper on the outside. Works really well. The cane I have is perfect, and the paper's not bad. The form I made leaves a little to be desired, but it is only my first one, and I have only ever seen a couple of videos of it being done. There is a suprising lack of resources about this process on the web. I thought it'd be a big craft thingy.
