Project: Learn five recipes
I have a goal this summer to learn a few recipes reliably enough that I can just make them. I want to have the ingredients on hand; I want to know that I can have dinner on the table in 20 minutes, and I want to know I'm going to eat well. This is pan-fried pork chops from Alice Waters, The Art of Simple Food, carrots, my mom's lentil recipe, and Tom Pappas's sweet sauteed tomatoes from the Zen Three Bowl Cookbook.Cooking Lecture: French - Escargots a La Bourguignonne (Snails with Garlic Butter)
We learned about cuisine from the Burgundy province of France.
Escargot or snails are often eaten there and this is a escargot recipe with a garlic butter topping.
I'm not a big fan of snails, especially after I got sick after eating a bad batch when I was child, but I guess this is just one of those prerequisite dishes you have to learn about to get the full French cuisine experience.
