BAGI Field Trip, 2/3/2012

posted Feb 1, 2012, 1:43 PM by Academic Antics

Please join us for a field trip to the Bay Area Glass Museum THIS FRIDAY, Feb 3, 2012, for a one-hour glass-blowing demonstration.

We will be visiting the Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI) in San Jose.
Address: 401 E. Taylor Street, Suite 115 | San Jose, CA 95112 |
408-993-BAGI (2244)
Their website: http://www.bagi.org/

All ages are welcome, but please keep little ones safe -- glass blowing involves hot, molten glass, and sometimes sharp edges. If your young ones get restless, just take a walk outside for a bit and come back when
they are settled.

This is a one-hour demo, from 10-11am, but please show up by 9:45 to get checked in so that we can get started on time.

I've arranged a demonstration once before, and kids and adults alike were amazed at the process. I'm sure this will be a fun activity for all!

Note: no charge for siblings under 5 yo. (requires parent to attend with child) or adult chaperones. Anyone not attending with their parent will need to bring an emergency medical release, available here:

By the way... I'm sure groups of us will find things to do later in the day if we have extra time, perhaps a lunch and then ice skating, or a visit to a park if the weather is nice. I'll leave that up to all of you to figure out ;)

This field trip is sponsored by Academic Antics, but is is open to all homeschool families. Please sign up online in our registration system: http://academicantics.com/registration (create a family account, create a student, add the student to a class.) Look in your spam folder for the confirmation email when making an account. (Once you create one, you can use it for future field trips and classes :))

We don't handle any money exchanges at the field trip itself, so please pay online via PayPal to payments@academicantics.com

Questions? Lost? Call 408-673-0ANT (0286)

Hope to see you there!

- Julie

p.s. online registrations will close midnight the night before -- make
any additions to your registrations by then, please!
