Welcome! The Academic Achievement Framework (AAF) website. AAF has been developed in collaboration with external consultants from Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC), to address the individual needs of all BPS students through a coherent, multi-tier system of supports for academic skills, English language development, and social-emotional-behavioral proficiency.
Did you know that AAF is fully aligned with the Massachusetts Tiered System of Support (MTSS)? Click on MTSS to see guidance provided by the Mass Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

We are happy to report that 445 Boston Public Schools teachers participated in the 17 AAF Summer Institute sessions this summer (2013). We are thrilled to continue to support the vision of supporting students through a prevention model of data-driven tiered instructional support.
WHAT ARE INTERVENTIONS?
Interventions refer to instruction that SUPPLEMENTS and INTENSIFIES classroom curriculum/instruction to meet a student's need(s). Interventions can be in academics or behavior. All interventions must have:
1. A plan for implementation
2. Evidenced-based pedagogy
3. Criteria for successful response to the intervention
4. Assessment to monitor progress every 4-6 weeks
For more information contact your AAF consultant for more information on district recommended interventions.
