50th Annual All India Youth Training Camp-2016

The 50th Annual All-India Youth Training Camp of the Mahamandal is going to be held at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur Math, Dist.- Howrah, West Bengal from 25 to 30 December 2016. The aim of the camp is to infuse in the youths idea of self-development (i.e. character building) social concern and citizenship, service to nation, and national integration, generally drawn from the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Those who desire to join the camp must understand the purpose of the camp and apply only if they are serious.


Application for participation in the camp should reach the city office by 10 December 2016. Applications received after the last date is liable to be rejected. The applicants should retain a Xerox copy of application with them and should bring the same at the time of reporting in the camp. Participants should reach the camp site at 3 p.m. on Sunday 25 December and will be allowed to leave the camp only on 31 December in the morning.


The camp is for men only. Students who have completed at least 10th class in school and non-students who are at least 18 years old may apply. There will be two types of trainees – Ordinary and Leader Trainees. Senior members of the Mahamandal Units and others (above 23 years) willing to organize youths elsewhere under the Mahamandal may join as Leader Trainees. Leader Trainees and Ordinary Campers are to pay a fee of Rs.300 and Rs.200 respectively on reaching the camp. Travelling expenses are to be borne by the campers. No other charge for food and lodging is to be paid.


Mahamandal Units / Associations / Educational Institutions may send applications under the signature of Secretaries or Heads of the Institutions enclosing a list of participants with required particulars. But they should explain the purpose and rules to each intending participant before including the names in the application. Interested individuals may also apply singly.


Bedding, clothings, a dish and mug and other personal requisites are to be brought . Mosquito curtain and light woolen garments will be necessary. For parade, prayer, etc. white shirts white trousers / shorts , white cades or dhoti and ‘punjabi’ (kurta) may also be brought if possible . Campers should use separate bedding. Cots are not provided.


Campers are expected to perform any duty allotted to them in the camp and to participate in all the programmes. Campers should be prepared to take notes of the camp proceedings.


Campers should be ready to put up with any hardship that they may be required to undergo in the camp. Campers are not allowed to go out of the camp during the camp days. Discipline and cam rules must be strictly adhered to.


Units of the Mahamandal need not send any forwarding letter with the application. Any report or other letters should not be sent in the same envelope.
