About Me

EDUCATION

I completed a B.Sc. in Mathematics with Specialization in Economics and a B.A. in Economics at the University of Chicago in 2010. I completed an M.Sc. in Mathematics at the University of Michigan in 2011, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Michigan in 2013.

CAREER

I am currently Senior Consulting Actuary at Allen Bailey & Associates..

AWARDS

I am a 2013-2014 Project NExT Fellow, a 2013-2014 Michigan NExT Fellow, a 2010-2013 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, and a 2011-2012 Michigan Mathematics Graduate Fellow.

AFFILIATIONS

I am a member of the American Mathematical Society, the Mathematical Association of America, the Association of Christians in the Mathematical Sciences, and the Telluride Association.

INTERESTS

I enjoy playing pool, and was the University of Chicago champion. I also enjoy playing various string instruments, including the violin, viola, cello, guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, and mountain dulcimer. I play with the Hillsdale College Symphony Orchestra, and have also played with the University of Michigan Campus Philharmonic Orchestra, the University of Chicago Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, the Chicago Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, the St. Charles County Symphony Orchestra, and the Town and Country Symphony Orchestra.

FAMILY

I have a beautiful wife, Kristin Abram, and two lovely daughters, Esther Anne and Naomi Cynthia. We also have three bunnies: Geronimo, Samson, and Bear.
