A fish is any aquatic vertebrate animal that is covered with scales, and equipped with two sets of paired fins and several unpaired fins. Most fish are "cold-blooded," or ectothermic, allowing their body temperatures to vary as ambient temperatures change. Fish are abundant in most bodies of water. They can be found in nearly all aquatic environments, from high mountain streams (e.g., char and gudgeon) to the abyssal depths of the deepest ocean (e.g., gulpers and anglerfish). At 31,500 species, fish exhibit greater species diversity than any other class of vertebrates. Food prepared from animals classified as fish is also referred to as fish, and is an important human food source. Commercial and subsistence fishers "hunt" fish in wild fisheries (see fishing) or "farm" them in ponds or in cages in the ocean (see aquaculture). They are also caught by recreational fishers and raised by fishkeepers, and are exhibited in public aquaria. This is my 4 stage Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment setup. 1. The white pads in the clear bottles filter the tap water of debris. 2. The white bottles contain Activated Carbon Floss that depleats finer debris and dechlorinates the water, among other chemicals. 3. The three white tubes at the top are all RO Membranes which trap particulate matters like hard minerals, bacteria, metals, etc... 4. Barely seen here but the brownish purple resin strips nitrates and other compounds and de-ionizes the water of salts. From here, it's pooled in the reserve tank below and I can mix it with artificial salt mix for use in my saltwater reef aquarium... (or any consumption human and pets, that require ultra-purified water.) All good stuff, ,my coffee never tasted better! (the water lines are not neatly done but longer lines mean easier servicing when things go wrong.)
