Welcome to the Aboriginal Studies Resources website!

The Main Book List K-12 was initially produced for gleebooks in conjunction with the Independent Education Union (IEU) & the Catholic Education Office (CEO) Aboriginal officers. It aimed to provide resources to support the six strands in the NSW curriculum, as well as providing schools, libraries, preschools, play groups & community groups with a comprehensive list of published resources.

All of the materials were available at the time of the list's initial publication but books do go out of print from time to time. In previous versions of this website, there were links from the books to either gleebooks or publishers.

This has become very time consuming to keep up to date. If you want to buy any of the books that you find listed here, we recommend you contact gleebooks, your preferred educational supplier or your local bookshop. You may have to order them, but that will also encourage booksellers to stock these books.

You can also use the fantastic resource provided by the National Library of Australia - Trove.

This will tell you which public and major institutional  libraries have a copy of the book in their collection.

As we were developing this list, other areas of interest came up & you will find links to those more specialist lists also in the sidebar on the left. If you come across resources that we have not included, please don't hesitate to contact us & let us know.

We'd like to thank Diat Callope & Esther Walsh from NSW/ACT IEU  & Lisa Buxton from the CEO for their time & support given freely & generously in 2007 when first developing the list. Book kits are now travelling the state with the union's officers & officers from the CEO.

We'd also like to thank the publishers who have supplied free copies of requested publications for inclusion in the travelling kits. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
