Jinying Xinyidao (金英心意道)

inyidao 心意道 is a system of martial arts created by Grandmaster Li Tailiang 李泰良 based on his extensive martial arts background.   The core of the xinyidao system is the usage of the dantian (丹田) as most clearly expressed in the arts of Dai style xinyiquan 戴式心意拳 and Che style Xingyiquan 車式人形意拳 .

The system combines Master Li's experience in sanshou, shaolinquan, xingyiquan, baguazhang, and taijiquan to present a comprehensive system for health and self defense.

Jinying Xinyidao is my personal expression of the Xinyidao system.

While the core of the system is Xingyiquan (and its predecessor, Dai style Xinyiquan), we also practice elements of Shaolinquan, Baguazhang, and Taijiquan.

The shaolin forms are restricted to 3 basic forms that are a great warm-up for kids and adults.  They progress from a simple 5 part form introducing basic strikes to a more complex form that includes jumping kicks.

While Grandmaster Li has experience in the 5 main taijiquan styles, the Jinying variant of Xinyidao focuses on the Wu style.

The current curriculum can be found here.

I currently run public practice sessions on Tuedays at noon and Thursdays at 6:30pm on the Stanford University campus.  Sign up at meetup.com if you'd like to join us!
