Appendix 17. Mapping of the ABO gene using the radiation hybrid panel

 

In 1996, we mapped the ABO gene using the radiation hybrid panel. The ABO gene was mapped close to the end of the q-arm of chromosome 9. Actually, the gene was located closest to the end compared with the all the marker sequences mapped in the region at that time. The current version of the DNA database lists 120 genes between the ABO locus and the telomere.
