Special Programs

Since I (Swami Jnaneshvara) am in the process of retiring from active teaching we generally do not schedule seminars, workshops, or classes. However, one-to-one coaching is available for sincere people who are interested in the principles and practices of our tradition.

TOPICAL WEEKS: From time to time we have a one-week program devoted to some particular topic for that week. Please see the calendar at Meetup.com to see if there are any such programs scheduled. These are also announced through the newsletter

MEDITATION RETREATS at Abhyasa Ashram:
Please contact me if you are interested in a personal meditation retreat at Abhyasa Ashram.
  • If we have not personally met, please provide a detailed description of yourself and your history of meditation practices so that we may know if our ashram is a match for your interests and needs.
  • I like to not force people into filling out forms, but I ask that your description of yourself, your history, and interests be in some detail.
  • Asking to stay in our ashram is somewhat like inviting yourself to stay in the home of a person you have never met; please be respectful of that and introduce yourself with clarity.
  • If introducing yourself in this way is not something you wish to do, then it is already clear that being here is not a good match for you.
IS ABHYASA ASHRAM A FIT FOR YOU? Before you visit Abhyasa Ashram in a retreat setting (rather than just stopping by to talk or meditate, which all are welcome to do) you and we will both want to know if we are a fit for one another. To start to determine if Abhyasa Ashram is a fit for you please do the following:
THEN, AFTER THE ABOVE PLEASE CONTACT US AND INTRODUCE YOURSELF. From the resources linked above you will know a great deal about us and Abhyasa Ashram, and we want to also know about you. Therefore, please give a detailed description of yourself and your history and meditation practices, including:
  • What is your name?
  • What is your nationality and where do you live?
  • Please tell us your age and family background?
  • Are you single? Married? Do you have children?
  • What is your education?
  • What kind of work do you do?
  • What is your religious, spiritual, and meditation background?
  • What is your physical, mental, emotional situation and history?
  • What traditions, spiritual groups or religions have you followed, and currently follow?
  • What else would you like us to know about you?
  • Why do you feel it is a fit for you to visit Abhyasa Ashram?
  • What do you hope to gain from your visit?
All of these questions are not meant to be invasive. Think about it: it makes perfect sense that we know one another if we are to spend a significant amount of time together in our small, intimate ashram, doesn't it? This is a matter of getting to know one another, not to filter or exclude anybody who sincerely wants to learn and practice.

In loving service,

Swami Jnaneshvara
Ma Tripurashakti
