peonies flowers season - Chinese celadon
Chinese celadon planter with tray - Four Seasons design
Celadon is amongst the oldest forms of earthenware in the world. Our authentic chinese celadon is handcrafted using the same antiquated manufacturing techniques that have been employed in China for literally centuries. The unique green hue comes from an iron based glaze that reacts with both the heat and specific clays used in celadon production. The color is a soft cool green that emphasizes tranquility and serenity. While uniquely asian, celadon incorporates beautifully into both contemporary and traditional settings of both eastern and western influence.
Peonies - this week's flower
Yay! It's peony season! Peonies are my absolute favorite flowers. They combine fragrance and large-bloomed drama so perfectly. These were purchased last Saturday from the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket - isn't it amazing how much longer locally-grown flowers last than the crap you buy down at the bodega?
This is one of the first blossoms of the season. This bush was grown from roots taken from one of the bushes in the yard of the house where I grew up.
