About AHS

The Abernethy Horticultural Society is a group of gardeners and gardening enthusiasts, from beginners to experts, based in the beautiful Perthshire village of Abernethy. Our purpose, as stated in our constitution, is to encourage and sustain an interest in gardening for all AHS members through a programme of horticultural-related events and practical gardening  projects of benefit to the village environment.

Over the Winter and Spring months we hold meetings on the 2nd Wednesday evening of each month in the Masons Hall.  Each meeting has a different guest speaker who will talk on a wide variety of horticultural issues -  from Lawns, Veg Gardening , Peonies, Bees to Plant Hunting in China - and answer your questions. In Spring we wrap up the talk season with a visit to one of the many fantastic gardens available in central Scotland.

Additionally, in September we hold an annual  'Garden Day' which offers fun for the kids, plus a seed swap, plant stall, produce sale & much, much more.

If you wish to join the society, please come along to any of our events, or to contact us about joining, or anything else, please email:
