Feast Week

Abbotsley Feast Week 2019

Friday 12th July to Sunday 21st July

Believe it or not, July is just around the corner and that means it’s time, once again, for ‘Abbotsley’s annual Feast Week’ – nine days of fun events and activities for all the family.

Last year we raised over £3,300 during the week for the Village Hall – almost £1,000 more than the previous year! We couldn’t have done it without your support and all funds went towards our maintenance project and ongoing refurbishment. This year, we hope to raise enough funds to complete the project but, importantly, for everyone to have fun whilst doing so.

What you can expect

Events will include our traditional village fete, pub quiz, golf day, barn dance and live jazz, interspersed with cream teas, fish & chips and sports activities including the ever-popular Kids v Adults Football Tournament. And, this year, you and your family can try to outsmart your neighbours in our new Village Treasure Hunt.

See below for the full list.

Plant Your Pants

Since the year 2000, our Feast Week has had a theme and, last year, this theme moved from scarecrows to ‘Plant your Pants’. This was a great success and the village was adorned with some very imaginative and colourful displays. We plan to follow this theme this year and hope to see even more wonderful and artistic creations. Fellow villagers, if you’re stuck for ideas or don’t know where to start, why not come along to our workshop on Saturday 6th July at the Village Hall (2pm to 4pm).  Plants and pants will be available for a small donation or you can bring your own. We hope to see you there but, if you’re not able to make it, please see

below last year's winner and a selection of last year's creations for inspiration.

Can you help?

Would you like to get involved? We’d really appreciate any help you may be able to give to support our fete. Last year we attracted more visitors than ever

and, this year, we’d like to make it even bigger and better. To do this, we need help with stalls. Are you able to spend a few hours on Saturday 13th July

to run or help run one? For more information please call Nick or Lynn on the Village Hall phone number - 07821 652437.
