The FETAC Level 5 Award in Information Technology will enable a student to gain knowledge and experience of software development which will allow them to gain employment in this growth sector or to continue on to further study in the fields of Software Development, Computer Programming or Information Technology.

            Eligibility:

            Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied qualifications.   The Leaving Certificate is not
 
            a requirement for mature students who wish to return to full-time education.

            Certification:

            The course is certified by the Further Education and Training Awards Council
            (F.E.T.A.C).Further Education:  Graduates may use their qualification to apply for a place in any
            of the Higher Education Institutes through the Higher Education Links Scheme.
 
            Course Duration:

            September – May

             Fees:
 
            Tuition free.  Maintenance grants available for eligible students.  Application forms are available
            from your local V.E.C. Office in July/August. A Back to Education Allowance is also available to
            eligible students.  Students with medical cards are exempt from examination fees.
