We hold informal social gatherings for people with babies and children of all ages. When we meet, we will normally include a breastfeeding or parenting topic for discussion. At these meetings the library will be available for borrowing books (these cover breastfeeding and parenting topics). If you have the time, you might like to bring along a small plate to share from the pantry, it does not need to be homemade. Otherwise do not fuss, just bring yourself and your children, and your breastfeeding questions.
At all of our gatherings, a breastfeeding counsellor is generally available, should you wish to discuss any concerns in private.
You can also expect:
• willing hands to hold your baby, if you would like a break!
• a hot cuppa and yummy food
• a caring and accepting environment
• an opportunity to share parenting ideas
• up-to-date breastfeeding information
• encouragement to achieve your breastfeeding goals
• understanding about life with babies and children
All mothers are welcome at all meetings – even if your breastfeeding journey has not yet started, has finished or was short-lived.
There’s no need to worry about being late for an ABA meeting; come when you can, leave when you must.
