09/13/2006 - New Froth Ball Record!
The unstoppable Edwards/Webb team has done it again! The inventors of the game have today sent waves of shock through the international Froth Ball community by scoring a round of 172 touches on the Vernon St pitch. Can anyone stop this juggernaut duo from their dominance of the game?
Rules
Spaced approximately 15 feet apart and equipped with a slightly deflated Zellers-issue exercise ball, players must kick the ball back and forth, allowing it to touch the ground (a 'ground touch) once at most between every 'player touch'. There is no limit on how many consecutive touches a player may make, and items such as picnic tables, decks, stairs, fences, and tupperware bins are considered in play but do not count toward a ground touch. The goal of both players is to make as many player touches as possible before the game ends - which happens when the ball makes two or more ground touches consecutively.
History
Froth ball was invented on September 8th, 2006, by Messrs Colin Edwards and Aaron Webb. The game derives its name from the fact that most players, after even a few short rounds, will work up a hearty sweat or 'froth'.
