-According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, physical education can be defined as "instruction in the development and care of the body ranging from simple calisthenic exercises to a course of study providing training in hygiene, gymnastics, and the performance and management of athletic games."

- According to the World Health Organization, health is "a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
