Midwest AAR is seeking nominations for the following Section Chair positions, which will be open by fall 2015:

GENDER AND RELIGION

RELIGION AND AMERICAN CULTURE

RELIGIONS OF ASIA

STUDY OF JUDAISM

THEOLOGY

Section chair commitments are three-year terms, renewable once. Self-nominations are encouraged. Submit a short CV, a statement of justification and purpose, and an endorsement by a colleague or faculty advisor to Midwest AAR Regional President Amy Carr at AR-Carr@wiu.edu by October 1, 2016. The primary responsibility of section chairs is to read proposals submitted to your section, put together panels, find respondents when appropriate, and to attend regional business and Board meetings at the conference. Section chairs are elected by the Regional Board of Directors. See Sections for more on the sections themselves.

If you are interested in serving in a leadership position down the road, or have ideas regarding the region or our annual conference, please contact Midwest AAR President Amy Carr at AR-Carr@wiu.edu.

Congratulations to the following new officers elected in January 2015:

Jeffrey Brackett, Ball State University, will serve as the new REGIONAL ELECTED COORDINATOR after Forrest Clingermann's term comes to an end in spring 2015.

Brian Hillman, Indiana University, serves as the new STUDENT DIRECTOR.
