History of AAHGSCC

AAHGSCC was founded and organized in 2005 in Fresno, California by Denise Lancaster-Young and Willie Mae Haskin. Together they established an interest group and in February 2005 they put together all the necessary paperwork to form a nationally recognized chapter. AAHGS National chartered the establishment of the official chapter in May 2005. Nineteen members were officially registered as the official chartered members; known as the "Afro-American Historical and GenealogicalSociety of Central California."
