Over 6000 claiming to travel to work by bicycle from the South Cambs area

A couple of members have been taking look at the 2011 Census data for South Cambs
Although a lot lower as a percentage than Cambridge, still over six thousand claimed they use a bicycle to travel to work. See the stats below:

A big thank you to Mario for kick starting fundraising

Mario has kindly donated £100 to kick start fundraising for vital repairs to the cycle infrastructure. Read about this in the Cambridge Evening News:

"A camapigner who has donated £100 to kick-start improvements to “dangerous” cycling conditions on the A10 says the work is essential to keep cyclists alive.

Cambridgeshire County Council declare war on potholes

Ten road patch and repair teams are currently working in Cambridgeshire to fill pot holes, so now is a good time to report winter damage. A link to the council statment with details of how to report a hole can be found here

You can also use the CTCs fill that hole link on the left to report potholes or use the county council links.

Details of funding for cycling and walking

On 30 January 2013 the department announced a boost of £15 million to the Community Linking Places Fund giving a total fund of £30 million for sustainable travel projects across the country that will promote economic growth and cut carbon. Read the full article here
