Photos - Devil's Peak Hike, September 2015

We hiked up to the top of Devil's Peak on 5 September. The weather was absolutely stunning - clear skies, warm, and no wind. We decided to take staves, ropes and our flag up the mountain so we could build a flagpole to fly our Scout flag higher than the summit beacon. Well done to the Patrol Leaders for organising this great hike!

Photos - First Aid training, September 2015

9th/16th Cape Town are learning important first aid skills. Learn it young. Remember it forever. A big thanks to Devin, Ronnie, Tarryn, Caleb and Greg for coming through to help us out!

Photos - Lion's Head Hike, August 2015

9th/16th Cape Town went for hike up Lion's Head. The mountain was cloudy, so we could not see the view. However, the scouts still had a lot of fun.

Photos - Gordon Shield, August 2015

9th/16th Cape Town competed in the 100th Gordon Shield competition. Even though the competition is old, it is new for our scouts who did very well for their first attempt. Activities included building a campsite, cooking, air rifle shooting, rescuing people from the dam, and building a telescope.

Photos - Backwoods Cooking, August 2015

We started with a game of One-Up-One-Down, followed by some backwoods cooking. The scouts cooked vegetables and mince in a foil pack, as well as bread on a stick. Well done to Eagles for having the best meal.

Photos - Monte Vista joint meeting, August 2015

Thanks to 1st Monte Vista for inviting us for a fun joint troop meeting. We played crab soccer, had a knotting relay, and played a wide game outside similar to Capture the Flag.
