Hamborg, Rolf Charles Age 86, of Buffalo, passed peacefully, surrounded by family on April 8, 2011. Survived by wife, Marlene (Witzig); brother, Einar; Children, Rick (Karie), Bob (Cherie), Randy (Robin), Cindy Freund (Brad), Cathy Gold (Donny); eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous relatives, and friends. Rolf was a WWII 8th Air Force 25th Bomb Group* Veteran who enjoyed many years of service at the Planes of Fame Air Museum. Retired 30 year employee of Minnegasco. Memorial Service will be held 11AM, April 30 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 302 NE 2nd Street, Buffalo. Visitation one hour prior to service. Family extends gratitude to Lake Ridge Care Center staff and residents for their friendship and care. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

*The 25th BG in general flew reconnaissance, weather, and "chaff" missions, originally with B-17s and B-24s, and later with fast Mosquito XVI airplanes and B-26 Marauders. They usually flew ahead of and after large 8th AF bombing missions.
