Jim Johns, Captain, U.S. Army, Graduated from Washburn H.S. and the University of Minnesota. Flying for over 50+ years with a background in Air Traffic Control is both an aviation historian and aircraft restorer. He is currently restoring a BT-13 to flying condition for the WASP museum in Texas. He has owned or co-owned and restored at least 20 historic military type aircraft including one of the Japanese "Kate" torpedo bombers from the movie "Tora, Tora, Tora" with which he was heavy on the air show circuit for 25 years recreating the Pearl Harbor attack. Retired from Benson Optical Company and Army aviation.

Minnesota's connection to the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo, Japan during WWII.

The Minnesota Historical Society did an oral history interview with Nick Linsmayer of Villaume Industries, Inc. An online Transcript. is available. The completed glider is now in an aviation museum in Granite Falls, Mn.
