Stanton MN Historic Airfield, WW II Flight Training

Stanton, Minnesota's Historic Airfield conducted Civilian Pilot Training (CPT) programs during World War II. Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota was responsible for buying and constructing the grass airfield for WW II Flight Training. It reportedly was used for practice "touch and go" landings by Navy LT. George H. W. Bush (Sr.) who was training out of the Twin Cities, who later became President of the United States.
