Donald L. Butts

Butts, Donald L. Age 87, of Bloomington, passed away quietly July 10, surrounded by his family and is in heaven with God. Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mae; sons, Stephen (Karen) of North Oaks, Spencer (Lita) of Vail, CO; 3 grandchildren, Kada (Mike) Goalen, Kelsey (Rich) Lessard, Spencer (Nikki) Butts; 4 great-grandchildren, Koby, Carter, Griffin and Rayna; sister, Barbara Parkhurst of Austin, TX; nieces, nephews and friends. Don served with the 8th Air Force as a bombardier, 398th Bomb Group during WWII. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and the U of M. He taught at Hopkins High School for 30 years and was a custom home builder for 35 years. Don was a past president of the Minnesota Speed Skating Assoc., Babe Ruth, Little League baseball coach, a pitcher and coach for Edwater Baptist Church softball, a member of BAJ, and a young adult Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed snow skiing, golfing, and the lake cabin. Memorials preferred to Health Partners Hospice or Grace Church. Memorial service 12 Noon (TODAY) Wednesday, Grace Church, 9301 Eden Prairie Rd., Eden Prairie. Interment Ft. Snelling Cemetery. Washburn-McReavy Werness Bros. Chapel 952-884-8145
