Dick Kennedy, Staff Sergeant, 457th Communication, Edwards Air Force Base 1949-1952. (Chuck Yeager's flight breaking the sound barrier was just a year or two before he got there.) Dick worked with teletype communications and had a high security clearance so he could go in the different hangars. They were developing all kinds of new and strange aircraft at that time he said. Edwards AFB was in the Mojave desert and was very dry and dusty.
