FAQs

No. 81 Glan Gwna is a privately owned chalet. We are frequently asked questions by family, friends and holiday makers; here are some of the answers!

You will need to bring bed linen, towels and tea towels. In addition to the in-season site shop and Caeathro garage shop and fresh take away bakery there are supermarkets for grocery and provisions in Caernarfon and a Super Tesco on the road into Bangor. Please replace any cleaning materials that have been used up; please don’t use bleach on the work surfaces.

Electricity meter – in airing cupboard is now a special card meter. Use only cards obtained from reception or the Texaco garage on South Road LL55 2HP - take the road from Glan Gwna towards Caernarfon keeping left at the one way system for the A487 and the garage is on your right. The single-use cards are £5, £10 or £20 and there is an emergency £5 facility on the meter - but please make sure the meter is topped up ready for the next holiday maker!

A small hand torch may be useful if walking on the site at night (we have solar lights by the steps).

The smoke detector is there for your safety, you may wish to use the 'mute' button when cooking. Do NOT remove the battery (there should be a spare in the kitchen drawer)!

Recycling – there is a drive-through recycling point just beyond the Village Green on the road between Reception and the Poolside Bar.

Fridge - please turn off inside the fridge and leave the ice box and door open after your stay.

Hob switch – is above the hob.

Oven and fan switch – is along the wall, behind, with sockets. Pull out for extractor fan above when cooking and ventilate as much as possible.

Microwave, press ‘quick start’ for one minute’s cooking, and again to add further minutes. Press ‘cancel’ twice to stop.

De-humidifier; Leave internal doors open when you go out. If the weather is cold and you have the windows closed leave the de-humidifier turned on (at about #3). Empty the bucket when the red light comes on.

New Shower 2011 - be economical with the pump control as there is little head and it will shut down to a trickle if there is air in the cold supply; switch off and wait a few seconds if it draws air.

Patio table +4 chairs and 2 steamer loungers are left on the balcony when the chalet is occupied. Please water our plants! Beware in wet weather, do not slip on wet planking!

Televisions. Freeview+DVD in lounge and main bedroom both with remote controls.

Radio CD and remote control are in the bedroom. Radio 1 is 99.4MHz, 2=89.8, 3=92, 4=103.6, Classic=100.7, Wales=93. Or use Freeview!

Secure all windows (do not lock) and lock the patio and front door before going out, even if on site. We, the owners, are not responsible for your private possessions. Thefts have occurred, please be careful.

…and finally, please leave our chalet as clean and tidy as you would wish to find it.

Any problems, please inform us ASAP on 01886 880731 or 07976 969537.

We hope you will enjoy your stay and come again!
