Rush 'Moving Pictures' 2-sided Black Lightweight 1981 Tour T-shirt (Small)
Black lightweight fine jersey tee shirt features the artwork from classic rock band Rush's 'Moving Pictures' album. 'RUSH' is printed in large red lettering outlined in white, with two men removing a picture from a wall. The back of the shirt has the classic image of the director's clapper board used at the beginning of a film. Written on the board is PROD: 'Moving Pictures', SCENE: 'Rush', and DATE: 'World Tour 1981', printed in blue lettering with white outline.
'Moving Pictures' is the band's 8th studio album and their biggest selling and most popular to date. It includes the hits 'Tom Sawyer' Limelight' and the radio staple 'Red Barchetta.' Rush is a Canadian rock band formed in August 1968, in Ontario, composed of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart. Since the release of the band's self-titled debut album in March 1974, Rush has become known for the instrumental skills of its members, complex compositions, and eclectic lyrical motifs drawing heavily on science fiction, fantasy, and libertarian philosophy, as well as addressing humanitarian, social, emotional, and environmental concerns. Celebrate the great music of Rush with this unique shirt.
This was my submission for a t-shirt design for the UCSB cycling team. It lost to one with that said "keep the fun between your legs,". Alas....it's hard to compete with something like that! Even so, I think this is my best example of photoshop art (generally all I do with PS is color-tweaking for pictures, as opposed to original art). I think I took pictures of a helmet and sunglasses from online somewhere, desaturated them, and then traced their outlines using the pencil tool, which gives a nice, crude-looking yet recognizable shape (let's hear it for poor sketching and tracing skills using a mouse!). Then I just drew in the cheeks, chin, nose, and mouth. Looks pretty good, I think.
You liked the pictures? Now you can have the t-shirts (2 different designs, lots of kinds). Ah, and the stickers, postcards, gifts, teddies and everything else, of course. Just follow the links on the pic!
