Miracle Baby
Miracle Baby
Say, Hi! to my Grand nephew Jesse, all 7lbs 8oz of him, born by C-section at 10.40pm Saturday 9th January 2010. We call him the 'miracle baby' for the following reason; six months ago my niece, Lucy, went to the hospital complaining of constant abdominal pains. They performed scans on her and promptly told her that she was three months pregnant. This was a seriously big surprise as she and her partner hadn't planned on having children and Lucy was on the pill. It turns out that Lucy was born with two wombs! The pill had only worked on one womb leaving the other fertile. There are dangers with this kind of pregnancy, usually premature births and/or deaths. Fortunately, Lucy doesn't smoke, drinks lightly, exercises and has a healthy diet. The baby almost made it to full term by a week but her waters broke on Saturday evening. I took this photo (ISO1600) 19 hours later. I was doing ok emotionally until I held him in my arms, then I cried. Such sweet innocence, free of all the problems that plague us adults, no worries about work, relationships, untainted by religion or politics...a blissful state! Both are doing well.

Feed me! Feed me! Baby Sparrows eat about every 20-45 minutes, through out the day! You can space the meals a little longer once they start getting their pin feathers, etc. A nice, homeade diet for a sparrow should consist of high Protein and Fat. Baby bird formula that you buy at the pet store won't be suitable, because its designed for grain/seed eatting birds. For sparrow, you can soak some dry cat or dog food, them mush it up. I suggest buying baby bird vitamin drops at the local pet store as well, and follow the instructions. Never put liquid in the babies mouth, they can breathe it in and die, or even drown in it.
