I have been many times accused of having a blog about fat people, hating fat people, mocking fat people, etc. I do not hate fat people. Nor is this photostream about fat people because that would be boring. However I will admit to being highly frustrated. Let's talk about why. Day in and day out I spend hours talking to people about their weight. We talk about food journals, healthy choices at fast food restaurants, exercise, moderate portions. I distribute literature, recipes, healthy lifestyle tips, charts, pictures about healthy eating. I monitor weight and cholesterol and blood pressure. And day in and day out, I would say 1 in 50 people actually take an active role in their weight loss. The others will continue to admit to eating a box of cereal and a 2 liter bottle of soda for breakfast. They will show up with a Big Gulp and a bag of Cheetos and eat them right there in front of me. They will admit to avoiding exercise and have 40934 reasons why they couldn't walk for 30 minutes last month. Sure, some people may have metabolic reasons for obesity, but we will never know if that is the case because they aren't monitoring their calorie intake. So no, I do not hate fat people. But if you ask if i am frustrated about people complaining about their weight and doing next to nothing about it, then I will honestly answer yes. On the other hand, I DO hate white pants, jeggings, Toms Shoes, stupid tattoos, plastic surgery, ill fitting clothes, and assholes. I fully own up to this and I believe it is my right to do so. Today’s Date: July 18, 2011 Today begins the third week of my healthy regime… I had been doing this for one week before I started this photo weight loss blog which I think I needed to get the momentum going. When I weighed in I was on track for my goals, and I have decided not to weigh in again until next Monday. That’s a little hard for me as I like to see the progress… but I think it’s an unhealthy attachment (to the scale) that can have an adverse effect… My feature today is one of the many charts that I keep. This is specifically related to the tribute to my sister- to the exercises that she never did. Had she done them in her life she would not have gone to an early grave. I exercise for myself in her memory so I do not share the same fate. Truth is I probably over exercise. I lift weights (mostly for toning and not really building) 60 minutes per day, I go for a slow-paced walk in the morning and usually hit the inclined treadmill in the evening. That doesn’t even account for swimming! I’m hoping to be able to add swimming back into my regime very soon. It’s hard because of time, and because if I add in swimming then I have no idea how I will meet my minimum calorie threshold… today I was under by 700+. Not good, but I’m learning as I go… At least I’m not in the 2,000 under like I was for so long!
