Boy Scout Troop 757 Glenwood, MD

Welcome to Troop 757!

Troop 757 was founded in 1954 and is chartered by the Glenwood Lion's Club. We meet at the Howard County Fairgrounds at 7:30 PM on Monday evenings.

TROOP PHILOSOPHY: Boy Run – High Adventure

We are a Boy Run troop, employing the qualities and ideals found in the BSA program to build character, foster citizenship, develop leadership, and embrace the outdoors. As a boy run troop, the boys learn through doing. As they advance, they take on more responsibility for running troop meetings, planning activities, and helping the younger scouts advance. Our meeting location at the Howard County Fairgrounds provides an outdoor venue as needed.

Troop 757 offers a full range of scouting activities throughout the year including weekly troop meetings, monthly weekend outings, plus a week of a regional Summer Camp. Outdoor activities involve the boys in the complete scouting experience, rich in adventure and learning. A sample of our outings include: Backpacking, Canoeing, White Water Rafting, Snow Skiing, Caving, Dog Sledding, Rock Climbing, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, and Bicycling. In addition, our troop typically sends a crew every year to participate in two-weeks of BSA High Adventure such as Sea Base, Philmont, and Northern Tier. We have also had scouts and scouters attend both national and world jamborees.

Advancement is important too. Nationally, only 4% of all scouts attain the highest rank, which is Eagle Scout. Earning the Eagle Scout award is a strong tradition in our troop. We are proud of the number of scouts who have earned the rank of Eagle since our troop began.
