This is a bridal look requested by Marlye. I hope it helps. Step 1: I applied my mascara. I like to apply this first and let it dry and then curl it after its dry that way your lashes hold there curl for much longer Step 2: Primer: I would highly recommend Too Faced Shadow Insurance it usually always lasts me about 12 hours and I’m sure the bride will have a long day ahead of her. You’ll want her shadow to be as fresh and bright as when it was first put on for the whole day, the reception and all the pictures. I like this better than urban decay or mac primers. Be sure to apply to the under eye and around the tear duct as well. Step 3: All shadows used are from the Coastal Scents Ultra shimmer 88 palette. The 1st color I used is White #1 for the whole tear duct and inner 1/3 of lid. White usually comes off as ivory over a flesh tone. I applied this shadow using a flat 1/4” application brush. Also note that I number the colors in the 88 as 1-88. So the first row from left to right is 1-11, 2nd row 12-22 etc etc. That way you know exactly which color I used. Step 4: For the champagne color I used #45 and applied it to the middle of the lid with the same brush as before and blended in with the white a little. Step 5: For the outer 1/3 of the eye I used a crease brush and applied the dusty rose color #30. Then I also took the same rose color and blended it into the crease of the eye. Step 6: Next I used a brown/berry color #77 and used my same crease brush to blend it just into the outer corner of the eye lid to darken it up just a little. Step 7: Now I know you said you wanted to use brown liner and so I’m sure you can line the eye with brown to your desire but for this look I used that same brown berry shadow #77 and I used the 1/4” application brush and I smudged it along the upper lash line to darken that a little. Step 8: For a highlight color I used Flesh tone #23 with a blending brush to smoke out the look and remove any harsh lines. Step 9: Now we move to the under eye. Use the ?” application brush I used the brown/berry shadow #77 and lined the whole bottom lash with it, yet keeping it very close to the lash. Step 10: Next I used the champagne color #45 and the same ?” brush and applied this color just below the brown/berry color but only from inner corner to middle. Step 11: Then with the same brush I took the dusty rose color #30 and applied it just below the brown/berry color from the middle to the outer corner. Step 12: Last step. I used Mac Kohl Pencil in Fascinating (white) and lined the water line. I chose a white pencil for the water line because white makes the eyes look more open, wide, and awake and I’m sure the average bride doesn’t get the average amount of sleep that she should the night before her big day so anything that makes her look wide eyed and fresh faced is all the better.
Day 237 - Pink Friday
Today was one of those days where you spend most of it "setting up" for a lot of other stuff that'll happen eventually. There was the ASHRAE luncheon, and I did notice that a couple of the Board of Governor positions were open (Secretary and Student Activities). Who knows...I'm sure if I wanted a spot I could easily get one, I am friends with the President-Elect, ex coworkers with the Treasurer, and am acquainted with the President this year... On top of that, my Sweetheart and I spent the afternoon taking photos of her cosmetics that will no doubt spawn an excellent series on makeup application and advice. Plug here: prettybabiemakeup.blogspot.com Gotta say Sweetheart, the "Why have bread when you can have cake?" tagline is just GOLD. Also, excitedly, I bought skates! I haven't skated since my teens and I outgrew my old pair so we went to Canadian Tire to buy a new pair. I'm looking forward to really getting out of my computer chair and out with my Sweetheart to go skating soon. Hawrelak Park, the Legislature Grounds, and Jasper Park Lodge. Now if only I can make it to Christmas...
